Assignment for Monday, April 29 - Friday, May 3

This week you are to create a music video in your groups.

You MUST show me the lyrics to the songs you choose before beginning work on the video.

You MUST show me the video before you post it to YouTube.

The approved video is due Friday, May 3. If you wait until Friday to show me your work and it is not approved, you will have to do it over again for less credit. (See post regarding make up work schedule)

Post the link to your YouTube video in the comments section below with the names of the people in your group.

MAKE UP WORK for 4th Quarter

You will be allowed to make up any assignments that you have missed in the 4th quarter. You will receive credit according to the schedule below:

Monday, April 29 - Friday, May 3 - 90% credit for any make up work turned in.

Monday, May 6 - Friday, May 10 - 80% credit for any make up work turned in.

Monday, May 13 - Friday, May 17 - 70% credit for any make up work turned in.

Monday, May 20 - Friday, May 24 - 60% credit for any make up work turned in.

You MUST come show me your make up work and make sure that I change your grade for any assignments that you make up. DO NOT tell me that you did something and expect me to go find it. DO NOT show me what you did and walk off without making sure that I have changed your grade in iNOW. This is your grade, please take responsibility for making sure that you get credit for your work.

As of Friday, May 3 you should have 15 blog posts completed on your blog. This does not include posts for class assignments.

GSHS Commercial - Assignment for April 1 - 5

This week your team will create a 30 second commercial promoting an event, activity, club, organization, or sport at Gulf Shores High School. This will be practice for the commercial you create for a business.

- Decide what your team wants to promote

- Create an outline or storyboard for the commercial to follow
   * Discuss, decide, and write down if you will be using all video or a combination of video and still
      shots, graphics, text, filming process, interviews, or anything else that will be included in the
      video.

- Teams will be given cameras and given two class days to conduct video and photo shooting.

- Video editing into a 30 second commercial

- The video must be complete and uploaded to our YouTube account by Friday in class.

- The entire group will get a grade for this project. Those who refuse to participate, will automatically
   receive a zero. If the project is not completed by Friday in class and uploaded, the entire team will
   receive a zero.

Assignment for Thursday, March 14

READ ALL THE DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY.

Today you are going to make a slideshow of the original and edited pictures from this week and then export it as a movie. Each student needs to create their own slideshow and movie with the pictures from the group. This is not a group project.

Using Keynote, put each picture into its own slide.
- the original first
- followed by a slide explaining how you edited the picture.
- followed by a slide of the edited picture
- you should end up with 15 slides total.

NOW TURN THE SLIDESHOW INTO A MOVIE

You will have to do the following for each slide.

- open inspector (the blue circle with the "I" inside)

- I believe the transition timing is in the second icon but I may be wrong. Check the other icons if it is not in the first.

- I want each slide to be on screen for 10 seconds

- I want each transition between the slides to be different. You CANNOT use the same transition throughout the project.

- you also need to make sure that each slide is set to change automatically and not "on click"

- once you have changed all of these things, save your project in keynote.

- now export your project as a QuickTime movie file. Go to the "Share" tab at the top of the program in order to export to Quicktime.


NOW POST THE MOVIE TO YOUTUBE AND THEN TO YOUR BLOG

- go to www.youtube.com and log in to the school's channel.

- I want your post title to be "Friday's Class Assignment"

Each individual student in class needs to upload to Snapfish the pictures that were taken in their groups yesterday. READ THE DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY.

- upload the edited pictures to your album (the album with your name on it) on snapfish.

Entire team sitting in a chair together (no sofas).
Entire team in a group hug.

Once your group has all the pictures taken, everyone in the group needs to upload the pictures to each of their own computers for use in further assignments.

Assignment for Tuesday, 2/26/13

Continue with filming the Harlem Shake in each individual class.

- Use someone's videocamera on their phone. You need to be able to connect your phone to your computer to transfer the video.

- Do not video tape 20 minutes straight.

- Limit each take to 2 minutes unless the song is longer.

- Be creative.

- I'm going to research overlaying the videos to make it look like the classes were all together. Anyone that wants to take initiative to figure this out will get extra credit.

MAKE UP WORK

The following are assignments that were supposed to be completed. If you have not completed any of these assignments, here is your chance to bring up your grade.


Blog
- each student must create a blog on any subject for which they desire to have a voice.
- a new article or blog post is due each Friday by 5pm.
- the article must be at least one paragraph (5 sentences) and include at least one picture or video.
- make sure your article has a title.
- once the article is posted to your blog, click "View Blog"
- go to the article that you wish to post to my blog and click the title of your article
- copy the URL for that article
- go to my website "www.tasteofno.com". Find the appropriate post for your assignment.
- click on the comments link and paste your article's URL in the comments section.
- be sure to click publish so it will actually be posted.

The first blog post was due Friday, January 18. This blog counts as a weekly exam and is 50% of your grade.

The following pictures were supposed to be taken by each student:
- a sports picture
- a food or cafeteria picture
- a random shot around the school
- a picture of anything that you would like (clean and appropriate)
- a picture of a public place

Cafeteria Ad
- Using "Pages" on your Mac, create an AD for one day of the cafeteria menu. The AD should have a cafeteria/food picture as the background, the date, and the items on the menu for that day.

Email Regarding Digital Billboard
- we watched a video of the digital billboard that I would like to create to replace the scrolling announcements.
- you were supposed to submit an email with your opinions, critique, and ideas on the video.

Edit a Picture
- open a picture in the photo editing website www.pixlr.com
- your assignment was to edit any picture you would like so that it looked drastically different from the original

Create an AD template
- using "Pages" on your Mac, create a base template for ADs to be placed on for the digital billboard.
- the template is to include "Gulf Shores High School" and "2012-13" somewhere as a tag for the AD.
- the tags are not to be predominant but rather illusive.

Decide on a Project
- choose the genre of multimedia in which you wish to express your talent, ability, interest, etc.
- create music, video, photo collage, print advertising, digital advertising, slideshow, etc.
- if you draw, paint, play an instrument, sing, rap, sculpt, dance, sew, craft, etc. Take pictures or video and create a digital presentation.
- THIS PROJECT IS DUE WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 13 - NO EXCEPTIONS
- progress will be checked daily to receive credit for classwork and production

Homework for Tuesday, January 22

Take a picture of a public place off school property with your phone, iPod, or computer. (Try to avoid identifiable people being in the shot. If they are not recognizable, that is fine)

Upload the picture(s) to our AV Snapfish account. (Make sure you have the Username & password before you leave campus on Tuesday)

Once the picture is uploaded, click the picture so it becomes enlarged on your screen.

On the right you will see the word "Share" as in the screen shot below.

Hover over the word "Share" and select "Share this photo". The following screen will appear:
Now select the tab that says "Share with a link". You will see the following screen:
Copy the URL listed for your photo and paste it in the comment section below.

Your post is due prior to 7:30am on Wednesday, January 23 to receive credit for completing your homework assignment.
